WHT HIRE AN ARBORIST?
An arborist is an individual trained in the art and science of planting, caring for and maintaining individual trees. Arborists are knowledgeable about the needs of trees and are trained and equipped to provide proper care. Hiring an arborist is a decision that should not be taken lightly.

Proper tree care is an investment that can lead to substantial returns. Well-cared-for trees are attractive and can add considerable value to your property. Poorly maintained trees can be a significant liability. Pruning or removing trees, especially large ones, can be dangerous work. Tree work should only be done by trained and equipped professionals.

WHAT IS A CERTIFIED ARBORIST?
Certified Arborists are individuals who have achieved a level of knowledge in the art and science of tree care through experience. To become a Certified Arborist, they must pass a comprehensive exam developed by The International Society of Arboriculture. Certified Arborists must also continue their education to maintain their certification. This continuing education keeps them up-to-date on the latest techniques in arboriculture.

FERTILIZATION & PEST CONTROL

Bugs, pests and bothersome weeds are a year round problem in Florida. Let our State of Florida licensed and certified technicians develop a customized fertilization and pest control program to fit your needs. Factors such as soil type, turf, plant species and environmental factors will be analyzed to ensure that your property looks its best year round.

FERTILIZATION

Your lawn, shrubs, palms and trees require vital nutrients to look beautiful and stay healthy. CPM’s Fertilization Technicians will focus on maintenance, quick diagnostics, and treatment. The best products will be selected to provide, not only positive results, but also to protect the environment.

Fertilization maintenance contracts include:

  • Weed & Feed

  • Slow Release Fertilizer

  • Granular Fertilizer

  • Liquid Fertilizer

  • Maintenance Spikes

  • Deep Root Drench

WEED & PEST CONTROL

CPM uses Integrated Pest Management (IPM) to help control unwanted weeds and pests. IPM programs use current, comprehensive information on the life cycle of pests and their interaction with the local environment. This information, in combination with available pest control methods, is used to manage pest damage by the most economical means and with the least possible hazard to your landscape and the environment.

WHITEFLY

For the past several years, two species of whitefly have had a major, negative impact on Florida plants and trees. Whiteflies are small, winged insects that typically feed on the underside of leaves with their needle-like mouthparts. Whiteflies can seriously injure plants by sucking juices from them, causing wilting, yellowing, stunting, leaf drop, or even plant death. The leaves of trees infested with whiteflies begin to turn yellow before the leaves are dropped from the plant.

With information from the University of Florida Extension Service and years of successful applications, we can treat and protect your trees, palms and plants.

SPIRALING WHITEFLY

We treat this whitefly with Liquid Root Drench which is applied to the soil for best results. At the same time, we use a 20-20-20 Micronutrient Liquid Fertilizer to help the plant absorb the insecticide and green up the plant. The results of this one time treatment usually last six to eight months; however, if during this time period a follow-up treatment is needed, we will do so at no charge.

FIG WHITEFLY

We treat this pest with a Hardwood Tree Arborjet Trunk Injection. Depending on the diameter of the trunk of the affected tree, one hole or hole(s) will be drilled into the base of the trunk and sealed with a plug(s). Then a Systemic Insecticide will be injected directly into the vascular system of the tree for quick uptake.

We also use a Basal/Root Drench Systemic Insecticide, which is applied as a Root Drench or Basal Trunk Spray. The active ingredient is absorbed into the plant by the lenticel cells in the trunk of the hardwood trees or the feeder roots of the smaller palm trees. The uptake can take several weeks.

How will you know we stopped by and took care of business?

A doorknocker or lawn flag will notify you that we were at your property.
